Join me every Friday to discover a new tool you can integrate into your workflow as a doctor, a scientist, or both.
I believe in sharing knowledge, embracing automation, boosting productivity, and finding joy in the process.
Life Update
Tools and Tips
The last couple of weeks have been extremely difficult for me.
You might have noticed changes in my newsletter.
I didn't publish two weeks ago and shared a very different newsletter last week.
But after these challenging two weeks, I feel like I might be able to get things back on track.
So what exactly happened?
Initially, I thought I could fit everything in.
That I could adjust my schedule and incorporate this new responsibility into my existing workdays.
I even started waking up earlier—at 4:55 am.
But that wasn't enough.
So I had to prioritize.
I AGGRESSIVELY prioritized my schedule:
I slept less.
I ran less.
I skipped one newsletter and published a very short one afterward.
I cut away ALMOST ALL of my research time.
Throughout these two weeks, I kept thinking:
I can't continue like this long-term.
Nevertheless, I've decided to keep this teaching obligation as my top priority for as long as it takes.
Thanks to my dear wife, I got more sleep this weekend.
I won't skip my runs this week.
I'm writing this newsletter.
That leaves me with the biggest time-management challenge:
Finding time for my research.
I'll keep you posted.
Number 156!
I've been using AI long before it became a thing.
So when ChatGPT stormed into our lives, I already knew how it works.
I've been experimenting with it (and with EVERY other AI tool) for quite some time now.
For months, I've been using both Gemini and ChatGPT side by side.
Every single time, Gemini outperformed ChatGPT.
In what ways?
Let’s discuss 3:
Gemini gives me VERY accurate answers.
How do I know?
I double-check EVERY single fact it gives me.
In contrast, ChatGPT still makes mistakes.
And you know what's most frustrating?
ChatGPT remains CONFIDENT even when it’s wrong.
ChatGPT is like that arrogant person who thinks they know everything, but is often wrong.
Gemini, on the other hand, is like that quiet, hardworking person you trust more.
Have you ever noticed that after you input something into AI, you sometimes see it say "thinking"?
If you click the small arrow next to this “thinking” message, you can see the LOGIC behind the answer you're about to receive.
You see HOW your AI agent reached its conclusion.
When I look at Gemini's thinking process, it looks just like human reasoning. So it enables me to have thoughtful conversations with it.
ChatGPT's approach seems more like: "I'm going to prove to you that I'm right" — not necessarily following clear human logic.
Even if you believe ChatGPT is better in most areas, there's one thing Gemini ALWAYS does better:
Gemini is an AI tool by Google.
GOOGLE.
Google has been everyone's search engine of choice for more than two decades.
So when your AI tool needs to search the internet and deliver the most up-to-date information, which would you choose?
That’s it for this issue.
